  • Colleen chose the processional after she played the piece in band her senior year of high school. As soon as she heard it, she knew that would be her processional. Written in 1848 for an opera called Lohengrin, it tells the story of Elsa, a princess who is rescued and wedded a by a knight in shining armor
  • Each bridesmaid has a bouquet wrapped in a handkerchief the bride hand embroidered with her name.
  • The bride’s favorite flowers are white roses, look for them all over today!
  • The bride’s father made the custom wooden cake stand for the couple
  • There is over 100 yards of tulle used to decorate for the ceremony.
  • The groom chose the recessional as the classic Canon in D Johann Pachelbel
  • The bride made her own wedding cake and the couple built the Lego cake topper.
  • Part of the centerpieces on the table at the reception are recycled from Grandma and Grandpap Kalp’s 50th wedding anniversary party. The couple hopes to have a marriage just as long and strong.

  • When Adam proposed, he hand made a box with Legos to carry the ring; that is the same box the ring bearers are using.
  • The bride and groom are getting married at 2:30 because that is the best time to go to the dentist (tooth hurt-y) and the bride is a dental hygienist.
  • The bride painted the bottom of her shoes her favorite color… blue!
  • The couple’s first dance is to “I See the Light” from Disney’s Tangled
